In the quest for fortune the journey is inescapable
Our three-day program in Finalborgo was both challenging and thrilling. It was peculiar to observe how well we clicked with the others, as if we had known each other previously. Simply said, I felt at home.
In May 2022 I got an opportunity to embark on a journey in a foreign land to search for the pot of gold (fortune). Curious to explore new destinations and eager to take new roads to challenge my limits and see where the world and my courage would lead me to.
I had the privilege to meet one of the very few calm and wise men I know to date in Milan. We first connected at the event, where he introduced me to the idea of living and acting in ways that would most closely align with my principles and beliefs. During the event, I wanted to learn more about the community and a few days later an opportunity presented itself. I was invited for a weekend getaway to one of the coolest old towns in the northern part of Italy in the Liguria region. It was the first time I had visited this region and the experience was just out of this world.
I was very nervous and restless, eager to meet these individuals and get a sense of their culture and way of life. My excitement was high and I forgot to prior organize my trip. I only realized this after I already arrived at Finalborgo, A small town across the Mediterranean sea. The journey to a yet exciting and adventurous stay had just begun. The whole day I was exploring the city and during the night I stayed close to the sea.
Since it was my first time, I particularly appreciated the tranquillity of the beach. I had a wonderful experience connecting with my inner self and contemplating the essence of living for a little time as the waves and sand combined to create a small slice of heaven on earth. It was just as cool as looking at yourself in the mirror. At this point, I was already aware that it would be a voyage of self-discovery and reconnection with my inner self, which had been lost for a while due to various factors, including living in a hectic and stressful environment.
I had no idea how quickly the hours passed, the morning rolled around, and the lovely day had begun. I started my day by taking a fresh seawater bath for the first time, which energized me and got me ready for the long but exciting day that lay ahead of me. Not knowing exactly what was coming next made me anxious and I could not wait to meet everyone and learn about this initiative. On this day I finally got an opportunity to meet others and to my surprise, most of these delegates happened to be there without exactly having an idea of what was going on except for the few who were well acquainted and part of the project.
It was peculiar to observe how well we clicked and felt as though we had known each other previously. Being surrounded by such positive energy and love made me feel at ease and secure. Simply said, I felt at home, and everything was going smoothly.
Our three-day program was both challenging and thrilling and included many activities for defining the projects' scopes while getting along so well.
Even though we had people from varied backgrounds, occupations, and hobbies, we were all drawn together by the desire to make a significant change that was motivated by a strong sense of purpose and being a part of that change. We all agreed that there should be more freedom in how we carry out our duties and accomplish our objectives so that we can work more happily and efficiently. Each of us participated in creating this next wave of change by contributing small pieces of our beliefs, idols, and ambitions as well as our own experiences, which eventually came together to form a clear road plan.
I would safely say after this trip two things are more clear to me. One is the fact that when we come together we can achieve massive success, which resonates with one old story I read about Ubuntu – a philosophy of some African tribes that can be summed up as “I am what I am because of who we all are.” This philosophy emphasizes the collective approach in problem-solving as one finger cannot pick up a grain. Additionally, I have cemented the belief in taking a leap of faith. As they say “A journey to a thousand miles begins with a single step”. I can see a thousand miles away, a successful journey of this organization and it is my greatest pleasure to share a golden moment of building up the first step to the success story.
